Accounting & Finance Analyst - Norwalk, CT

GENERAL FUNCTION
Plays a vital role in optimizing team performance by overseeing day-to-day operations of all Credit Union financial record keeping; ensures accuracy of records; prepares monthly financial and statistical reports. Assists the Controller in administering the Credit Union’s Asset Liability Management program including daily cash flow.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures the accounting records of the Credit Union are maintained accurately.
2. Complete all deferred loan cost analysis (FASB) monthly.
3. Complete and maintain Rent Schedule notifying senior management of upcoming deadlines.
4. Assist the Accounting Specialist in the all monthly General Ledger Reconciliations.
5. Complete daily Episys balance and projections for CFO and Controller.
6. Complete all Real Estate Taxes quarterly and annually where applicable.
7. Work with Operations to complete 1099 filing annually.
8. Complete annual UBIT filings on a timely basis.
9. Maintain Charge Off Recovery records and balance monthly.
10. Act as a backup to the Controller to Maintain the suite of Asset Liability products including ALM, All Profitability Modules, CECL, etc.
11. Prepares any necessary financial reports including graphs and charts when requested upon or is required.
12. Works with Credit Union auditors and regulatory agencies, providing them with assistance in performing their reviews of the Credit Union operations.
13. Processes payroll (staff) general ledger transactions and performs a verification of quarterly and annual tax information.
14. Processes IRA and Backup Tax withholdings (government payments and reporting) in accordance with Connecticut and Federal requirements.
15. When necessary, assist in initiating outgoing wires with a secondary approval by another authorized user.
16. Creates and maintains Vendor records within the Credit Union’s in-house system, keeping in compliance with the IRS 1099 reporting requirements.
17. Be a backup for pre-paid records and documentation within the Credit Union’s in-house system.
18. Maintains accrual records and documentation within the Credit Union’s in-house system.
19. Maintains postage meter records and balancing for each Branch; funds accounts when necessary and manages leases.
20. For the purpose of maintaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers.
21. Abides by all federal, state, and local laws including but not limited to: The Bank Secrecy Act, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN); Uniform Commercial Code (UCC); Federal Reserve Bank; and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
22. Cross train and provide back-up for the NCUA quarterly 5300 report.
23. Assist Controller & CFO in annual budgeting process as well as financial audit.

1. Sitting the majority of the time.
2. The ability to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 10 pounds.
3. Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching above, at or below shoulder level, and kneeling.
4. The ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
5. The ability to effectively interact with all personality types in stressful situations.
6. Excellent ability to communicate effectively.
7. Occasional travel required.
