  • General Function:

    The incumbent will be responsible for the general health and efficient operations of the core and related systems. The person filling this role with interact closely with IT Department and third parties to implement solutions, including custom items, resolve system issues, and perform upgrades. Additionally, this person will be required to work closely with end users for basic support concerns. On a larger scale, the position will customize existing programs and reports to support the business needs of Mutual Security Credit Union. This includes programming to streamline processes and maximize the value of the technology. Participation on project teams to evaluate software solutions, perform enhancements, and streamline procedures as required by user needs, regulatory demands, or market conditions.

  • Major Responsibilities:
  • 1.   • 2. Support and enhance the Symitar core and ancillary systems such as, but not limited to, Episys, PowerFrame, ARCU, Synapsys, Synergy, Symform, iTalk, and ImageCenter, and 3rd party systems interacting with Core.
  • 3. Analyze requirements and program applications to meet business needs. This will include writing batch and on demand code within the Epysis software, interactive Specfiles/PowerOn code, and creation and modification of batch jobs.
  • 4. Develop programs to read and write to and from external data files for purposes of maintaining or providing core data to and from ancillary systems.
  • 5. Develop programs to read files from other core systems to support merger opportunities and create or update Core records accordingly.
  • 6. Design, develop, test, debug, and document new and existing applications.
  • 7. Coordinate software releases and upgrades, including testing of MSCU custom applications and installed modules, Lumin Digital (Online Banking).
  • 8. Maintain the interfaces and connectivity between the Symitar server and its ancillary systems.
  • 9. Maintain privilege groups and perform security review on Core and ancillary systems.
  • Position Requirements:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
    2. Minimum 5 years’ experience
    3. Financial services industry experience preferred
    4. Exceptional understanding of programming concepts and methods
    5. Demonstrated critical thinking, reasoning, troubleshooting, debugging skills.
    6. Project Management skills
    7. Effective verbal and written communication skills
    8. Preferred Systems experience: Episys, Synergy, ARCU, Synapsys, Symform, ImageCenter, MeridianLink, Adobe, MS SQL Server
    9. Preferred programming experience with PowerOn, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL, SymConnect/SymXchange API, Adobe
    10. Ability to work flexible hours to ensure all duties are performed timely and ensure systems availability. After hours support may be necessary from time to time.
